Young Hwan Ahn - Master Carpenter and Human National Treasure
Young H. Ahn is a Master Carpenter and Human National Treasure who’s personal love for Korea’s hanok, traditional houses, led him to start the first Korean traditional home experience in the early 90s. Ahn’s seminal work in both preserving and celebrating Korean architecture is reflected in the two properties he created, RakKoJae Seoul and RakKoJae Hahoe, which are now run by his son, Michael Ahn. Both properties have received international acclaim and the value of Hahoe Folk Village was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site shortly after RakKoJae Hahoe opened. This preserved “ㄷ” shape “Hanok” structure built 60 years ago features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a common covered courtyard that can be living area to accommodate the comforts of modern life.
Each bedroom can be rent separately with a maximum of 3 guests
It is also available for use as lodging for families or groups, as a whole house with a maximum of 5 guests
