Called sometimes the “city of poetry”, the “city of love”, the “city of eternal spring”, or again the “city of thousands of pines”, Dalat is a well preserved jewel of Vietnam. Perched on the mountains, the hill town has long been a popular escape in the region for getaways since French colonial times. The region is famous for its refreshingly cool climate (from November to around March, temperatures hover at about 10°C) and beautiful scenery, situated on a plateau 1,500 meters above sea level. The retreat is a suitable place for relaxation and an excellent destination for a getaway from the busy and noisy of the city's life, with its wide variety of flowers, vegetables and fruit from its surrounding farmlands as well as countless nature sites, evergreen forests and minority villages.
