A small corner of paradise, swimming pool overlooking the sea and the evening sunset over the sea, Decoration either the garden, the beach, the rooms, everything here is furnished with refinement, board games available, everything is designed to the pleasure of travelers, a place that it is hard to leave. Here one is pampered by the owners and all the staff is very very friendly, excellent food, no complaints
"In the quiet most northern part of Kerala directly overlooking the Arabian Sea exists this hidden jewel. If it's night life and hustle and bustle you're after, this is not the place for you, but if you’re seeking a place without music playing, with miles of empty beaches and total relaxation in quiet luxurious surroundings, then you've hit the jack pot. We stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas and New year and observed the managers, both of the hotel and restaurant, running this establishment with discreet panache. They pay impeccable attention to detail so that from the moment of arrival every possible requirement is taken care of. The staff are incredible - gracious and hardworking but without being obsequious. It seemed as if nothing was too much trouble for them, and indeed on one occasion, I asked the pool waiter for a coconut drink and without my knowing it, he went and picked a coconut for me from one of the nearby coconut palm trees. It was my husband's birthday whilst we were there, and again they managed to make it a very special day for him. The food is simply delicious- wonderful breakfasts, fresh crayfish eaten under the stars, delicious exotic smooothies brought to you by the pool, pots of tea with freshly baked biscuits brought to your veranda. We also took advantage of the excellent serious Ayurvedeic treatments available as well as having having some clothes made by their in-house tailor. We had the good fortune to go on their own houseboat for a couple of nights. This is the stuff of dreams, the kind of experience that memories are made of. The only small gripe was that certain residents began to put their towels on the best sun beds before breakfast and this set off a sun bed war for a period time. However, this is human nature and not the fault of the management. This is a low key 'Claridges -by- the- Arabian -Sea' with a dash of bohemianism; a place where one can walk barefoot, literally and mentally,in a state of deep cosseted relaxation. All that made it bearable to leave was knowing that we will be back. If anyone reading this is hesitant about going, don't be. Book it now! Stayed December 2016, traveled as a couple"
"We chose this ""add on"" to our small group Saga tour of India and Nepal. It turned out to be the best possible decision. It is difficult to write about without overdoing the superlatives. So I will attempt to reign myself in. In a way it was the very best kind of late fifties/early sixties time warp. Style, grace and comfort, fine dining without the affectation that can spoil simple first class food. As much as possible was home grown and home made. The jams and marmalades just delicious on freshly baked bread. Nothing was wasted, it was an excellent lesson in green, sustainable tourism. Days ended with sundowners in front of a roaring fire. The chef was also kind enough to show me how to prepare one of the very tasty appetisers we enjoyed with our drinks. As we happened to be the only guests for dinner on our last evening we were treated to a table set in the small dining area in front of a log fire. We had five courses all freshly cooked and prepared right down to the final tiny crispy granola bars with coffee. We did enjoy a short walk to meet some of the locals and a great bird watching lesson from Harri.. I intend to start a new hobby now! There was plenty to do but nothing was forced on us. We were really tired after a strenuous tour and mainly wanted to enjoy the peace reading outside in sunshine, and have wonderful food....with choice between continental or local,,,, then tuck up in an enormous bed with hot water bottles at the end of each perfect day. We had three such days and were very sad to leave. Thank you Marcus and please thank your amazing staff."
"The Mansion is divided into 3 parts - the boutique hotel, the heritage museum and the restaurant. We stayed there for 2 two nights and totally enjoyed it. Good: 1. Location of the Mansion is inside the UNESCO heritage site and very near other attractions. 2. Complimentary parking is available inside the compound of the Mansion. 3. Complimentary guided tour is available 3 times a day if you stay at the Mansion. 4. Rooms are huge and comfortable. 5. The swimming pool area is so relaxing and it's new! 6. Amenities provided are well thought of and of quality. 7. TV with 11 channels and WiFi in the room also available. 8. Check-in and check-out were easy and fast. 9. Security was good. Visitors not staying at the Mansion are not allowed access to the wings where the rooms are located during their tour of the Mansion. Needs attention/improvement: 1. Mosquitos in the room - mosquito repellant is provided in the room for you to use. 2. Breakfast was late on the day we were leaving. We rushed through breakfast. Additional info: 1. The tour was informative. Our guide mentioned almost everything that was in the book about the Mansion that we purchased from the gift shop after the tour. 2. The Indigo restaurant was really good. We love the food so much and the service was excellent."
Tugu Bali: "So good I don’t want anyone else to know about it!"
"Had my 10th Anniversary there and it was utterly magical. The staff looked after us so well, they made every effort to make sure that we had the best experience and it worked! Food was delicious, rooms were stunning and the view was incredible. They couldn't control the weather unfortunately so our rooftop sunset meal was just a rooftop meal but the setting was so glorious it didn't matter. I will never forget my time there and look forward to many more <3"
Rak Ko Jae Seoul: "Wonderful Experience – Hanok in Bukchon"
This beautiful property tucked away in the Bukchon neighborhood of Seoul is an absolute gem! We had the opportunity to spend 3 amazing nites in the Rak Ko Jae, and during our stay we met Winnie, our fabulous and very accommodating host. She prepared amazing breakfastes and was so delightful to chat with. Loved our quaint sleeping quarters and the heated floors. Plus the supercool old school korean tub. So enjoyed just snooping around the amazing complex. I'm running out of superlatives to use! Also, check out the hot sauna, sweating until you cant keep your eyes open (in a good way!). We'll never forget our visit.
Satri House: "Beauty, serenity, luxury"
We spent 4 days at this stunning boutique hotel, which manages to balance stunning luxury and tranquil relaxation. We were a large group- 3 families with children of all ages in tow, and the staff and manager made each of us feel welcomed and looked after. The lush gardens, beautiful pools, cinema room, heritage buildings with wonderful antique filled rooms, spas and excellent restaurant ensured that each person in the group was happily occupied. I wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks for a memorable holiday, Satri House team
"This was my second visit to Madison Polanka and it did not disappoint. From the minute you walk through the gate, you are greeted with peace, tranquility and beauty. The staff greet you by name, go out of their way to be helpful in every way but are not intrusive. They are thoughtful to your every need. Whether it be a cold towel when you arrive back from town, a cup of tea after your massage or buying you goggles from town when you have forgotten yours. No request is too little. This is by far the best boutique hotel I have stayed at- ever! The food is above expectation. Breakfasts are served next to the pool and lunch and dinner are a'la carte. The fish amok is amazing. Free, well maintained bikes are available for a 15 minute cycle into town, which include water, locks and ponchos during the rainy season. There is also the Friends restaurant, Marum a 5 minute walk that has beautiful food and is a NGO project. The Khmer house is out of this world, and would definitely recommend for a special romantic getaway. The rooms inside the house are also all beautiful and would thoroughly recommend. I really can't say enough about this place. You must go! Special thanks to Cathy the manager and Lawrence."
