Manda De Laos: "Amazing setting with the Pond and great dinners"
friendly welcome, great settings of tables with lots of privacy. The menu is has lots of choices to return few times on our stay. The service has charm and they explain well all the dishes. very reasonable prices, will be coming back sure.
Talabgaon Castle: "A pearl tucked in the beautiful Rajasthani countryside"
"Located one and a half hour from Jaipur on the way to Ranthambore or Bundi, Talabgaon Castel is the perfect blend of Rajasthani heritage and culture !
The road to reach is crossing the countryside and villages. I love the thrill of diving deep in the rural India and suddenly reaching this splendid property. It brings you back in the royal times !
The castel has been remarquably renovated and improved by this family of polo players who are passionate about their legacy. I came with some friends and we were welcomed and by two of the brothers who take great care of us all along our stay. The staff is professional and provided an excellent service. They serve authentic Rajasthani food made with the vegetables from the organic garden. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and beautiful. Chose one with the view on the swimming pool !
I particularly loved the gardens where you can stroll until the organic gardens, the farm the polo field and meet on your way some peacocks and even an emeu !
Perfect place to explore the rural life of India and to relax. They offer a large range of activities in an around the hotel (horse riding, walks, jeep safaris, camel cart ride...). We all wished we had stayed longer !
Thank you to the Talabgaon family for lovely time!

Le Calao: "Fabulous dinner"
Everything from food to service was as great as is any 2 star Michelin!! Very creative food, unique minority food offering to discover the sample of local cuisine at its best. Dont be misled by the current rating. The restaurant just reopened and has had yet enough reviews. But for us was the best restaurant in town by a long stretch !
Amata Lanna: "Beautiful Amata Lanna"
Amazing staff. Very poilte and helpful. Hotel has bikes to ride to the city and other helpful items such as umbrellas. Hotel is very peaceful and spa like with beautiful wooden features. Delicious breakfast. Well worth the price. Would highly recommend!
"The furnishing and finish is exquisite. The surgical head lamps near the kitchen and classic England sink and toilet bowl are just some examples how the hotel endeavours to capture the past. The service from the hotel staff is the best out there. Limited number of rooms so you feel like you are the only guest here. Interesting breakfast layout where you can dine amongst the hotel lobby areas. Will definitely have fond memory of 45 sukhumvit road.

Aside from the unexpectedly historical building and the long tale of Cheong Fatt Tze and his family, the guide who told us the story was also amazing. Talking enthusiastically about history for almost 2 hours straight mustn't easy. On top of that, she's super friendly and willing to answer every visitors' questions.
"My wife and I stayed at Sea Dance for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon and we really couldn’t fault it. The service was fantastic from Kent picking us up from the airport and showing us around the site, to Faith, Helen and John who were always there to help and were on first name terms within a few hours. Poy the resort manager was also extremely helpful and extremely welcoming.
We stayed in one of the beach front pool villas which was fantastic, clean and comfy. We were lucky enough to arrive on a Saturday where the hotel host a bbq, the food was unreal as well as the Wednesday happy hour (free drinks).
As some of the reviews do mention the resort is isolated but there are taxis just outside and you can walk to the first strip (around 10-15 mins). Top tips get up early for complimentary yoga and also do the island tour - excellent value.
Thanks everyone for making our stay so good."
I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this most friendly hotel. In effect, I stayed here to join the Half Marathon Running event (with the Starting Point at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre). The hotel took note of this special purpose and provided me with such a great upgraded room. Despite wonderful care, staff members refused to take tips. I had lunch with my running mates at this hotel after finishing the running event. The French food was really terrific and did not cost as much as usually expected of a top-quality hotel like this. Million thanks for all the wonderful services. I certainly plan to come back. From Associate Professor Dr. Pinai Nanakorn, Faculty of Law, Thammasat University
"Walking into the Blue Mansion really does take your breath away.
It's a beautiful property with a sense of serene grandeur that photos don't *quite* do justice. Every courtyard, corridor, staircase and room just looked beautiful. The feeling of tranquility was such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of George Town.
There is a new pool that is opening in January apparently. We could see it through a window and it looks AMAZING.
The 3 daily tours (don't go into guest wings) gave a great historical background to the property, walking through the building afterwards you could feel the echoes of past inhabitants.
Would definitely stay here again, serene, relaxing, historical, photogenic!
We stayed in a Liang room - Towkay. Liang is the base room type, but it is very big and spacious. Comfortable and appropriately decorated in keeping with the mansion. Snacks and juices were provided daily. The room was really welcoming and relaxing to come back to after a humid day of urban hiking and eating!
Some other reviews mentioned mosquitos, we didn't have any problem. We were staying in the quiet wing, away from the hawker centre next door. That side has some decorative pools, so maybe an issue on that side, but we didn't have any problem at all with mosquitos or noise.
The breakfast is served in the central courtyard and was fine. Good coffee, fruits toasts, DELICIOUS spreads. There is also an a la carte menu of around 6 choices of local and western cooked breakfasts, which were good also. Not spectacular, but good. We didn't eat lunch or dinner there. The staff could sometimes take a looonng time to acknowledge you and the cooked breakfast could take it's time. Coffee was good :)
Great. Walking distance to everything you need. Close to a hop on hop off bus stop if that takes your fancy.
Good by Malaysian standards. Calls to the front desk were dealt with promptly, friendly and cheerful at all times.
The wifi in the room was great on the first day and then terrible for the next day or two. Really, really frustrating when using to research things to do and book tours etc. When we asked if it was being fixed, we were offered a pocket wifi to use out and about and in the room. This may have been mentioned in the room booklet, but we didn't notice it until our last day!
We arranged an airport transfer, and understand that this is always going to cost way more than a taxi or uber. Pick up was good, in a nice car. Return trip they put us in a taxi that I think was waiting for someone else, the driver put the meter on when we sat down and had no idea that it was paid for by the hotel and had to go back in and check. I don't think they actually booked the return trip. We could have got a taxi ourselves and paid half the price we did.
PS. Uber is so super cheap in Penang!
Juices, treats most afternoons, and some nice soaps as Christmas presents (we were there on Christmas day), friendly front desk staff.
Room Tip: Ask for rooms away from the Red Garden hawker centre. Ask for pocket wifi on arrival!"
"We were on the Ballac 2, the crew were excellent and the guide was so informative. We stopped at a local island that was so interesting. She was also the waitress!! The food was superb and so much of it!
I would thoroughly recommend this cruise"
