Out of the seven properties we sampled in our eight nights in Cambodia, this was one of the best! And I really wish we could've stayed longer. We rented a junior villa for the night and was extremely pleased with our choice because the room was beautiful and spacious and the washroom came with an outdoor shower and bath. [See pictures] The resort has lush lawns and its own strip of beach with a pier - overall an extremely picturesque property. So much so that we ended up spending most of the day chilling at the property in stead of exploring Kep. Service at the restaurant and the bar is good - food is pretty good but the cocktails are average. Overall, a very comfortable stay and would definitely visit the property again if I am going back to Cambodia.
"I had the most amazing time. The Blue Mansion is a magnificent relic that has been beautifully restored. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in history and culture. The staff were super friendly and the tour guide provided so much information. The people who bought the Mansion and saved it from being torn down should be congratulated. Stayed January 2017, traveled solo"
"When planning a visit to Luang Prabang you can get a little blown away by the accommodation on offer, there are many beautiful properties to consider all offering their own style. After much thought we plumped for here and stayed in a Satri House Suite. The original historic house in which we stayed was delightful. A lovely bathroom, huge bedroom with a very comfortable mattress and a separate sitting room area. The rest of the little complex of rooms are well set out in the grounds and not at all crowded, everything has been very tastefully done and to a ver high standard. The location is away from the main centre a little, a normal paced walk probably not more than 30mins to the far end of the town, we enjoyed walking into the centre, traffic is not a problem at all, and to be honest we appreciated the little district where the hotel is located, very pleasant streets around. We also used the complimentary bikes to have a little venture further to edges of town. A little Lao whiskey nightcap with a quick read of the local paper became a pleasant regular evening stop. Walking around town with a keen eye on the other places we considered, Villa Santi, Busari, 3 Nagas etc amongst many more we firmly decided we had made the right choice and not once did I have a regret of our choice. We did not eat a main meal here, but breakfast was more than adequate, the home jams delicious. If I had a tiny gripe it would be that the staff, which in every other way were delightful and really attentive could pay a little more attention to used towels around the pool, thats not much as the only grumble of any kind though. Beautiful place, I understand this is pretty much the main heritage hotel in the city, I am not surprised."
"The moment we entered the villa, it felt like home. The villa is nicely decorated, offering you all the space and luxury you desire. A private pool, nice garden, lovely staff, fabulous breakfast and all the privacy you need makes your dream come true. My partner got good advice on where to dive and experienced three nice dives. And we really enjoyed the massages at the Slow Spa which has a nice atmosphere. Slow villas offers a concept we really enjoyed. Leaving this place really hurts a little as it is really a little piece of paradise. With love,
Fabienne & Roel"
Neeleshwar Hermitage: "Neeleshwar Hermitage offers a truly peaceful and luxurious stay in a beautiful setting"
"Neeleshwar Hermitage transpired to be the most beautiful, tranquil and restful place you could possibly imagine. On arrival, with the warmth of the greeting, the hectic world faded away and we relaxed into having time stand still. Ayurvedic massage, beautiful gardens, warm sea, the infinity pool...... and a superb chef all played their part in making it such a memorable experience. The cottages were delightful from the spacious bedroom to the open air bathroom. The hospitality, warmth and genuine charm of the staff was truly heartwarming. After a free consultation with the Ayurvedic doctor I went daily to the beautiful Ayurvedic spa - Priva, for massage and treatment with warm oils. What luxury and weeks later I am still feeling benefits."
Villa Mathis: "Awesome Wedding Venue"
We went for a wedding and family and friends had booked the entire Villa for the time we were there. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms, lounging areas and pool areas were fantastic. My only concern was to do with the tile areas around the pool as they got extremely slippery when wet and as there are no fences around the pool areas probably not really suitable for younger children who cant swim, having said that my grandchildren who are nearly 10 and 5 had a wonderful time. I would have no hesitation recommending this beautiful Villa.
"Four if us had a really fantastic overnight trip on Bassac 3 on the Mekong delta. The boat was very cleverly designed with each cabin having its own toilet/shower. The trip included a walk around one of the villages and a visit to a local's house, both of which were extremely enlightening. Our guide Ana was very informative, easy to understand and get on with. In the morning we visited a floating fruit and vegetable market as well as seeing rice noodles being made. A really wonderful and memorable trip."
Great food, great guides, great accommodation. Thank you for a wonderful trip - Noel is a great host and very knowledgeable. The campsite strikes the perfect combination of relaxed but extremely comfortable and a cut above!
Excellent restaurant in a beautiful garden. The food (local Lao food) was excellent and the service was also very good. We ended going there in four of our six nights in Luang Prabang.
"I stayed two nights at Four Rivers and it was a nice dream. This floating hotel is located in a beautiful jungle's river far away from everywhere. The rooms/tents are luxurious but not fancy. With private terrace over the river, you can swim in the fresh and clean water of Tatai's river. Also you can drink a beer while you're watching the jungle, the birds and the fishes.
Food in 4 rivers is 5 stars and the staff also. Everybody is very professional and try to explain you everything about the jungle, the life in the nearest villages etc. They have many trips to discover the area. Don't miss the fireflies trip during the night, kayaking in the mangrove and the sunset cruise.
So, everything is perfect in this ecolodge."
