My good friends had their wedding here and it was full of charm. The place reeks of romance and heritage, Food was so so but the place is wecloming overall.. They have a open patio and some of the guests danced in the rain, when it started pouring!
Tugu Lombok: "Quirky and very special"
This is such a quirky hotel. I was slightly alarmed on guest impressions because this is definitely not a sophisticated, one dimensional hotel. This is a one off. Beautiful situation right on the beach, big rooms with outside bathrooms and plunge pools, huge grounds, two pools - the new one bring a large infinity pool with fresh water and I always had it to myself). Plenty of sunbeds so you never had to rush anywhere and the staff were all completely charming. We were made to feel very welcome and everyone knew our names. The manager was very visible and personable and, like all the staff, seemed to genuinely enjoy his job. A very special place. Recommend the BBQ on the beach (the staff went to great lengths to make it special and the food was fab). Also recommend Gillian Island snorkelling trip where we saw lots of turtles which was a highlight
"The Island Lodge is spectacular. Set in a stunning location on the edge of the Mekong River, the hotel boasts beautiful SE Asian design & decor, plus food & drink to delight even discriminating travelers.
The dining and pool area overlook the river with views that are mesmerizing. There is a lovely spa treatment facility and all this, less than 2 hours from Saigon.
The Island Lodge is a Delta dream!"
Supanniga Cruise: "Probably the best stylish dinner cruise in Bangkok!!!"
"Love the cruise design, so chic and stylish. Not way traditional Thai like other cruises. I especially love the lounge area at the front of the boat where you can chill, sip champagne, and enjoy Bangkok's nighttime river view.
For the food, it comes with 6-course authentic Thai food and a glass of Taittinger champagne as a welcome drink. And I must say the taste is really Thai, unlike some other cruises that compromises way to much to suit foreigners' palate. The service is top-notch, very attentive and friendly. The cruise manager, Khun Joe, is the real gem. He helped us taking pictures and we loved the wine he recommended. All in all, a must do if are into river cruising."
Tugu Lombok: "A Gorgeous Setting and Amazing Staff"
We just spent three nights at The Hotel Tugu iin Lombok. The rooms were spacious, views magnificent and food beautifully prepared and very good. Unfortunately I became ill and the staff was caring and attentive. The Hotel staff surpassed the highest rating when a member of our party realized she had left her passport in the room safe midway on our one and a half hour ride to the airport. Our driver called the hotel and within minutes they located the passport and had a car race to the airport. The passport miraculously got to the airport in time for her to get on the scheduled flight with 10 minutes to spare. Our driver, Aziz, stayed with her and reassured her that it was possible to make the flight. We were all very grateful. I highly recommend this hotel. The antiques ,furnishings and grounds are stunning.
"Loved this sanctuary at the foothills of the Annapurnas. The host was Super friendly and had dinner with us our first night. We had a villa just near the restaurant/bar which was quintessentially Nepalese. This is not for Budget travellers as the restaurant is on the expensive side and there's no where else in the immediate vicinity to dine.
Stayed March 2017, traveled with friends"
"I don't recommend getting to Pai at night, at least not drive to there.
In the night it is a bit hard to find and the hotel couldn't be found on the car navi.
Other then that it was a very welcome very cosy hotel.
Our room was a bit far and you can get a bit lost there but it is a part of the place magic.
It reminded me a bit like Alice in wonderland with all the bushes.
The room was great and clean, the ride to the city was very comfortable for those who don't have bikes there."
We chose to stay at the Apsara Rive Droite because it is close to the old town of Luang Prabang (without being in it) and on the banks of the river. The hotel is small but has everything you need: charming + helpful staff, swimming pool, delicious breakfast, a boat to take you across the river to the old town, bicycles and lots of recommendations of things to do. We had a great stay and would recommend anyone going to Luang Prabang for a few days to stay here.
Tugu Malang: "Luxury hotel for reasonable price"
At first we just visited the hotel to have a look, as recommended by Lonely planet. But we were so astonished, that we booked one night in this awesome hotel. The feeling is so greatly colonial, including the afternoon tea and hotel amenities... We really enjoyed our stay and relaxed there for nice price before continuing our low-cost trip (yes, for Indonesia it is expensive, but still it's a price many different travellers can afford). The only negative thing is that when you stay here, you enjoy it so much that you don't desire to leave it and go somewhere out (yes, Malang is not very clean city...).
I was really looking forward to our stay at 4 Rivers Floating Lodge, and I wasn't disappointed. The staff were so welcoming, the tents immaculate and the food superb. We were lucky in that it was very quiet when we visited, but it was also rather wet! However, the service more than made up for the weather and, as I have already said, the food was excellent.
