We Care

The resort’s main goal is to make Khanom the first truly sustainable beach destination in Thailand. The resort has already been free of single use plastics for a years, and for every full bag of garbage collected from the beach, they will offer a free beer or soft drink. The owners are actively working on getting all of the private sector operators in the tourism industry, as well as the public sector local authorities and schools to commit to actions that will lead to a more sustainable environment. For example, they are trying to get all of the companies in the Khanom Tourism Association to give up single use plastics, and play an active role in beach cleaning activities. They are gently convincing the local authorities to share the concern and be more active on beach cleaning, recycling, and education. Aava Resort & Spa is also taking the lead to set up a Trash Hero branch in Khanom and support activities to provide environmental education in Khanom’s schools.
