Papua Paradise Eco Resort is set on the uninhabited island of Birie in the Raja Ampat archipelago of Indonesia. The resort’s 26 traditional and comfortable overwater bungalows enjoy incredible sea views across the House Reef. From their spacious decks guests often catch glimpses of passing turtles, sharks, manta rays and even dugong in the surrounding reefs. The bungalows have been built in a traditional style to be in harmony with the local climate, as well as contributing to the sense of place of guests. With the island being uninhabited nature on and around the island is pristine and the resort owners want to preserve and protect this, and so they have made every effort to make as little an impact as possible on their home environment. Cooled by the sea breezes and the in-room fans, air-conditioners have not been added to the bungalows to further reduce the impact on the environment. While the location is without doubt a paradise for scuba diving and snorkeling, the island and surrounding islands offer just as much diversity above water in the flora and fauna to enjoy, with perhaps the highlight being the bird of paradise. The resort offers the only luxury spa in Raja Ampat, a 5 Star PADI dive centre, a restaurant and bar, all set between sea and pristine jungle on its own private island. Papua Paradise Eco Resort echoes only with the sound of the gentle waves below the bungalows and the calls of exotic birds from the surrounding jungle, this truly is the perfect place to escape a busy modern life and surround yourself by pristine nature both above and below the waterline.

Your Host and The Team
“By traveling and working in Diving and Hospitality for 10 years around the world, I have been lucky to see and live in many beautiful places such as Mexico, Thailand, Australia, Maldives and a few more. However, only Papua Paradise Eco Resort has brought me back to a destination and property twice. The pristine nature and natural beauty of the place brought me back, it is such a special place. Since my first time here in 2014, working in the Dive Centre, the resort has implemented many aspects and facilities to provide a more comfortable, personalized and memorable experience to our guests. Besides the beautiful landscapes, the amazing marine life and the tranquility and peace of this little paradise, what has remained the same along the years, is the great atmosphere created by our staff, smiles, music and kindness which makes each of our guests feel at home and never want to leave. I am happy to share with you our Secret Retreat in Raja Ampat.”

We Care

Where guest drinking water is concerned, we have implemented a no single-use plastic policy and so offer sanitized aluminum water bottles to our guests. We monitor our energy consumption and analyze ways to improve efficiency such as improving insulation of our cold stores and installing energy-efficient lighting and appliances across the resort.
Our sustainable principles are applied to underwater activities too, Papua Paradise uses responsible dive and snorkel guidelines, and also follows the recommended guidelines with regards mooring. And we regularly conduct beach and underwater and reef cleaning.
