“I booked the Samar for a family trip, 3 generations, to explore Angkor together. It was the perfect hotel for us. The manager very kindly upgraded us to the 2 bedroom apartment and added an extra bed for my son, which was great for us all to be together. A great room by the way with big private bathrooms off the 2 bedrooms and nice lounge and private terrace overlooking the pool. Location is great, quiet (not easy to find a quiet spot in Asia!) and just a few minutes from the temples. We actually took the hotel’s tuk-tuks to the temples, great drivers, fun and friendly and got us to all the best places. Then back to the pool to cool off before dinner. Staff, super friendly and helpful. Property, really nice homely feel, comfortable and just the best beds – I have back and neck problems from years of m/bike accidents and had the best sleeps I have had for years at Samar...I want that bed! It couldn’t have been a nicer trip, thanks go to Bertrand, Srey and the team. Tip for dinner...you CANNOT miss Mie Café, best to book in advance though, quite a small restaurant and a big hit locally...incredible chef, incredible food, from mum to my son we all loved our dinner there and will be back! You want, intimate, warm, friendly and accommodating, perfect for families, look no further than Samar!
