Blackitch Artisan Kitchen is owned by Chef Black, a self-taught Chef, passionate about the incredible array of local ingredients that Thailand has to offer. The restaurant caters for just 16 guests per seating, served across two intimate tables. Blackitch creates a unique dining experience delivered through nine splendid courses of the Chef's tasting menu. There is no specific cuisine to describe each dish, as Chef Black creates his daily menu based on season and culture, and every single visit will bring with it a new culinary experience to delight the senses.
Chef Black also a hosts a cooking workshop and food workshop under the name 'Charm – the edible experience'. 'Charm' is a celebration and education that focuses on the different elements of food and sustainability that one should know as a consumer. The course offers range of different workshops and cooking classes to suit individual interests and passions.

Gaining knowledge from local wisdom and trying to understand it scientifically and logically is the key to my cuisine.”

Reflecting the Human Rights aspect of the indigenous people and the ownership rights shared by all Thai people within forest hill tribes, Blackitch has created a new educational project to better enable the sharing of local wisdom and knowledge, and sustainability around food and farming practices.
In order to help create cultural awareness for this cause, Blackitch organises the following types of events:
- Dedicated forest workshops,
- Youth networking and food shows
- A scenery test workshop and public education talks
- Specific event gatherings for special interest groups for particular learning or development projects
Blackitch is also dedicated to raising awareness of indigenous culture through the process of sharing the stories about what we do and how we cook, and allow guests to experience this though some of the food served at each meal. We actively support the use of local products and activities, and are deeply proud of Chiang Mai and the surrounding regions as a destination of great cultural value.
