The restaurant SEEDS in Yangon is gorgeous not only from the location. The cuisine will win. Treat for the palate and for the eyes. The service is very friendly and competent. From the design of the house, the decoration up to the dishes nothing was left to chance. Lucia and Felix Episser create an atmosphere as if you were visiting friends. Can SEEDS recommend that it was too for a romantic evening, a family dinner or a business occasion, the SEEDS is all needs.
What a lovely place on earth. The food is outstanding and the view is extraordinary. The service is excellent and the host really really lovely. Thanks for the great evenings at your dream place.
KHWAN BEACH RESORT: "Beautiful modern duplex Villas just off the beautiful beach"
"I spent a bit of time on some of the islands. My favorite Island was Ko Phangan with its cheap and simple little bungalows at the beach, but!! If you are going to do a little more upscale, and if Koh Samui is your island of choice, then I do highly recommend Khwan Beach Resort. The staff (I believe are French ex pats) are super charming, friendly and accommodating. You also get a free ride to and from the airport, which is a big plus. Breakfast is brought to your room each morning, so you can enjoy it in the privacy of your own abode. Each abode is very modern, has two stories, two bathrooms and a private pool. As the showers are partially open to the outside, you do get your share of lizards bathing with you! Very cool. The Villas are very private, which I did appreciate after spending much of my time in Thailand in not so private accommodations. Only about a 3 minute walk to the beach, where the water is clean and warm and the sand feels like silk between your toes. Enough restaurants along the beach to keep you fed, but can also take a car/bike/tuk tuk about 10 minutes to a wonderful shopping and restaurant area. All and all, great time here!
Satri House: "Attention to Detail"
"The Satri House setting is welcoming, elegant, and most comfortable. The quality of all offerings (lovely grounds and statuary, water features, open-air restaurant, and rooms) is evident at first glance. The staff present a sincere attitude of kindness and concern to guests and strive to fulfill any possible requests. Be sure to ask to use the free bikes for a special view of Luang Prabang. Room Tip: We made no requests for a special room and were quite pleased with the hotel's choice for us."
"Beautiful colonial boutique hotel. Smiling charming staff, eager to please. Lovely small intimate dining room with excellent food. Would definitely recommend having dinner here. Our trip was for our 40th wedding anniversary, and 'Happy 40th wedding anniversary' was spelt out in flower petals across our bed...a great touch! Bedroom was charming, and bathroom was clean, stylish and well presented.
It's easy to hire a ride into city centre and water front to see the sights.
A perfect hideaway hotel, good value and highly recommended."
Satri House: "Lovely boutique hotel, close to town but far enough away…"
Loved this little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of Luang Prabang - but close enough to get to the night market and most everything else in 5+ minutes. Lots of lovely sitting areas, nice grounds, beautiful antiques and local flavor. We stayed here 4 nights and felt like we were the only ones here for the 1st 2 days... as more travelers arrived the tranquility stayed intact because of all the lovely spaces around the property. And even though it was quite cold in the mornings and evenings they provided space heaters in the restaurant, sitting areas, and an amazing fire in the main 'family' room of the hotel. The staff was wonderful and at every turn saw to our needs - including coffee in the room before the restaurant opened. LOVED that there were not TV's in the rooms - great way to keep the kids engaged in games and reading when we weren't exploring. The rooms are large and the beds exceptionally comfortable - the mosquito netting - which may be needed in the more humid/hot months was charming. And the food in the restaurant was delicious! Stay for an evening meal or 2 - you will not be sorry. And the breakfast - while not a buffet - was absolutely delicious! Eggs to order, amazing handmade jams and chutneys, delicious croissants and toast. If Asian breakfast is more your thing than they offer this as well. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Luang Prabang - from our ride around town this still seems the best place to stay with high marks on all fronts.
"Getting there from the US is grind, but well worth it. As a result of ranger patrols, the marine park is protected and thriving, making the diving (and snorkeling) truly outstanding. The soft corals and marine life are abundant, healthy and beautiful. The dive center is efficiently and well managed. Evening talks were fun and educational. The resort is well designed and eco friendly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Was very sad to leave, but would go back in a heartbeat! Stayed February 2017, traveled with friends"
"This is a great place to stay and the staff are friendly and kind. The rooms have real character and charm. It is such a relaxing stay after the mayhem of Georgetown. The breakfast is amazing and the beds are super comfortable. Will definitely stay again at the Blue Mansion Ben and Anna Stayed March 2017, traveled as a couple"
Dewakan: "Three Stars or 3 Hats….. in our books"
"""The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply"" - Kahlil Gibran. This perfectly sums up what Darren Teoh and his team at Dewakan are doing. I profess guilty to being surrounded with these wonderful ingredients and yet be clueless as to their potential. Darren is taking these humble ingredients, injecting playful creativity and reintroducing them into the fore where they belong. Here one can expect to have boundaries challenged, pushed and yet moulded into familiarity. In this off the beaten path kitchen, flavours and textures are being routinely forged. Whilst I appreciate that everyone has their own personal opinion of good food, I suggest preconceptions be left at the door. This is my second visit to Dewakan and once again I leave in awe of mother natures bounty in the hands of a true maestro.
Amazing scenery, excellent beach, brilliantly designed tree houses, very good foods and well trained employees. Manukan island has the best beach in the area in terms of soil and snorkelling and this resort makes the experience even better one
