This journey has been personally designed by Ibu Ati, who is a Balinese priest, attached to local traditions and values and also owner of Surya Shanti Hotel.

This itinerary has been prepared to make you discover in 14 days the diverse and beautiful sceneries of the Magic Island of Bali, often called The Island of the Gods. With a driver and a guide, you will explore the South of Bali, its famous temples of Tanah Lot, Uluwatu and Mengwi as well as the beaches of Seminyak or Kuta, the cultural and art center of Ubud and the nearby terraced rice fieds of Jatiluwih. You will visit also the wildest part of Bali, the North East: Amed and Sideman around the Mount Agung and the Mother Temple of Besakih.

Dinner, at leisure.
In the afternoon: departure for the famous surfing beach down the cliff of Padang-Padang and the temple of Uluwatu, magical place where monkeys reign supreme, at the edge of high cliffs overlooking the Indian ocean.
In the evening: a romantic candlelit dinner will be served in the tropical gardens
For lunch, we will go to a traditional house, Ibu Ati’s friends, for a succulent Balinese lunch. In the afternoon, excursion to the marine temple of Tanah Lot and back to rest by the pool for the rest of the day.
In the early afternoon, we will drive in the direction of Ubud, with a few stops along the road. First stop: Mengwi to visit the temple of Taman Ayun, raised in the middle of the 17th century by the royal family of the province. Surrounded by large moats, the temple balances buildings and detailed sculptures. The monument is protected by UNESCO., Later, we stop in the forest of Sangeh, where the monkeys live freely, then we continue to Ubud, the famous artist village located in the center of the island.
Check-in Mathis Retreats (4 * charming hotel), offering a generous view over rice fields from its pool, spa and restaurant. Note: the hotel offers free shuttle to the center of Ubud.
Lunch in Pacung in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the valley. Back to Ubud via the authentic landscapes of Penebel.
A massage treatment of 1-hour is also included during your stay, so you can book and relax.
In the afternoon, we visit the Temple of Besakih, built on the slopes of Mount Agung - it is the most sacred Balinese shrine, the mother of all Temples. We then continue to Amed and help you check-in at Mathis Lodge, newly pen 400m above the see, with a spectacular sun rise view over the sea. 20 bungalows share an exceptional environment, with restaurant and infinity pool of 30 m overlooking the sea.
One evening a cocktail and some tapas will be offered to you at sunset.
We arrive at the end of the day at Sidemen village, surrounded by the rice terraces and plantations, on time for you to check-in at Surya Shanti Villa, an eco-resort with 2 infinity pools, a riverside spa, a restaurant overlooking the valley.
A foot massage is offered upon arrival.
In the afternoon, it’s pampering time at the spa of Surya Shanti, by the river: 1h30 of treatment including a full body massage, with hot stones, reflexology.
In the evening: a candlelight romantic dinner will be served in a gazebo.
In the morning, leave for the local market of Sidemen to find the necessary ingredients for your Balinese culinary experience. Back at the hotel, discover a traditional Balinese kitchen facing the volcano Agung, and learn how to prepare some typical dished with our chef. On the menu:
- sate lilit (coconut chicken skewers)
- green papaya salad
- corn fritters
and more depending in the season.
For lunch, well… you eat what you have cooked! We will give you the recipe so you can try again back home.
In the afternoon, you will visit Pasraman Vidya Giri, a Balinese activities school, which every day teaches the children of the village traditional dances, gamelan, meditation… in order to perpetuate Balinese traditions and values. This is a nice moment of exchange and sharing with the children.
If you wish, you can bring small gifts, like soft toys, crayons, notebooks.
Later, seat on the back of a scooter, and let us ride you through the Balinese countryside, villages and rice fields dominated by the volcano. If you have seen the movie “all the beauty of the world", you will recognize some of the shooting scenes. When we arrive in Petung, the clear water of the river will be hard to resist (don’t forget your swim suit). When we get back to the village of Sidemen, an unusual lunch will be served: our friend and chef Pak Bagus, will welcome us in his own house, for a gourmet lunch, in the middle of the jungle.
On the way back to the hotel, we can stop in another small village to see the girls weaving with golden threads (Songket).

VISA – Most country do not need visa for Indonesia, but we recommend you to check when you issue airtickets. Please make sure your passport is valid for 6 months beyond your departure date.
