Quietly unassuming plain wooden doors lead into this beautifully crafted small hotel and restaurant. We were offered tea and honey roasted dates as we sat down to register and then shown to an exquisite bedroom with with a warm wooden floor, huge bed on a wooden platform and a perfect bathroom. What a relief to find a room with no television but with lovely pictures, curtains and furniture. Tea comes in three loose leaf varieties and a bowl of tangerines was a nice touch. We dined in the beautiful restaurant on honey and ginger roasted chicken, stir fried beef and vegetables with rice and two glasses of really excellent Chinese wine. An unusual and wonderful small hotel set within the busking car free streets of this fascinating walled city.
