"I remember we arrived at Tugu around 9pm. While checking in two families arrived. They were on the same flight we were from Singapore. Looking all around I exclaimed ""What a beautiful place!""... And the guy next to me replied ""It's a magical place!""
That's what Tugu is. A magical place. It's not a luxury place, it may not be the best hotel you've ever been! But it may very well be an experience you will never forget. We enjoyed the Villa, the different places where we had dinners, the beach, the excursion to the Gili islands and overall we enjoyed the people. Thank you for let us fell so well!
Satri House in Luang Prabang is a terrific hotel. Colonial architecture and Indochinese furnishings are lovely, and the placement of Buddhist and Hindu statuary throughout the grounds provides serenity. The rooms are spacious, pool is a lovely area, and the restaurant is especially good. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Top notch!
Have stayed in TIger Mountain Pokhara Lodge a couple of times and it will be returned to. It is situated in a high position on the top of a hill affording the most wonderful views of the Annapurna range. The lodge is a place of calm, has beautifully designed rooms, a pool in a stunning setting where you can swim facing the Himalayas and the food provided is consistently the best I have had in the area. Various activities are available or you can read by the wonderful pool.
Satri House: "Wonderfully peaceful boutique hotel"
"Had a wonderful time at Satri house in late August for the first few days of our honeymoon. The whole hotel is full of the most fascinating antiques and curios, and is really beautifully designed. We stayed up in the Satri House suite, in the building where the prince of Laos used to sleep! The suite was so beautiful, and had a view over the serene swimming pool. If you are a fan of vintage and mid-century antiques, you will love it! Whilst staying at Satri House (due to it being the raining season) there were no other guests, so we were treated to the experience of staying in our 'own private mansion' with all of the fabulous and incredibly helpful staff there to cater for our every need. Just perfect! No matter the time of day or how late we had been out, we always returned to the hotel to find 4 people at the front desk ready to help us, and two behind the pool side bar, just in case we fancied ordering a drink!
The food deserves special mention too. Dinner on the first night was delicious - lots of carefully crafted local specialities with 5* presentation. Although the hotel is set away from the main part of town, it's still within walking distance or a very easy 2 minute tuk tuk ride. We preferred being slightly further out as the peace and quiet was exactly what we wanted at the end of the day.
"My wife and I love Thailand, and we wanted to find somewhere secluded, away from the touristy areas and bustling beaches. We fortunately stumbled across what can only be described as paradise and perfection. The Golden Buddha beach resort is a mix of golden beach and tropical jungle. Nature in its purest form. And how it should be.
The majority of the staff come from the local village and surrounding area, which makes the experience so much more enjoyable, beaming smiles and five star service abundant. Massi the manager and Valerie the owner are absolutely fantastic, and the place is clearly run with happiness, joy, care and love!
Nature as I have mentioned is abundant; Monkeys, colourful birds, geckos, butterflies and much more blend seamlessly into the background; along with the various lodge accommodations. We stayed in sea blue 2 . Which for a couple was perfect. The sound of nothing but the sea waves and birds singing.
The beach on both sides of the island is very easy swimming, no currents. The sea is warm and refreshing. The sand is like shortbread and a wonderful golden colour. Most of the time we had the beach totally to ourselves as it's so private.
If you want a place to totally unwind, be at one with nature; a place which cares about its eco sustainability and local people, then this is the place for you.
We stayed for 3 nights but I personally feel 5-7 nights would have been even more pleasurable. All in all a 10/10 experience and we have already made plans to return."
"We just returned from a 5 day family trip staying at Satri House. We had a great stay. The pool was perfect for our little girl, as the temperature this time of year gets pretty high.
We eat in the hotel restaurant for most of our meals. I must say the Laos food was outstanding. The staff were brilliant throughout the whole hotel.
Yes it was noisy with all the New year celebrations, but for residents to complain about this is pretty silly. I can guarantee there's pretty much music playing all over town, and its time for all the great people of Laos to celebrate and cool down with plenty of water fights.

a completely unique experience where Noel, Sam and the other guides went out of their way to ensure we had the best possible game experience- then coming back after a long game drive to a wonderful glass of wine and delicious dinner. our tent was beautifully equipped and v comfortable. highly recommended and can’t wait to try his camp in the north.
Sandat Glamping Tents: "Beautiful spot, very peaceful and private"
"Loved Glamping! We stayed in the Penjor tent, next to the amazing rice fields, it was nice as you only had one tent on the right hand side and would wake up to the view of rice fields. Staff are great and helpful, we had dinner next to the private pool and massages each day. We found 3 nights was a perfect amount of time to stay and take everything in. The shuttle into Ubud is also wonderful and easy."
"While this is an experience that cannot be put into words, I can only recommend this experience as a must see from the bottom of my heart for anyone who is lucky enough to be touring Sri Lanka. While it cannot be guaranteed at any time you will be lucky enough to see leopard as they are wild creatures in the wild... the passion that all the rangers have for their job is above and beyond.
The accommodation will surely make you feel at home as will the outdoor showers that have to be seen to be believed.
At the end of a long hot safari the jungle bar is waiting with any refreshment you may require... as are the nice cold towels that are from heaven
The meals are to die for... with every whim required to... and if you leave the table hungry you have no one to blame but yourself
Any doubts you may have through the night are quelled with a mobile phone within reach of your bed for instant access for assistance at any hour...peace of mind that will leave you sleeping like a baby
Many many congrats to Noel Rodrigos Leopard Safaris and all the special memories that will stay with you for many years to come
Simply a must for anyone who wants to experience the best that Sri Lanka can offer
When you are done with the temples in Siem Reap or the noisy city life of Phnom Penh this is the perfect place to relax for 2-3 days. There is nothing bad to say about 4 Rivers Floating Lodge. Great staff, fantastic general manager, delicious food, beautiful rooms and pure peace in a plastic free environment. You will love it. It takes time to get there but it’s worth the trip.
