The island of Lombok, twenty minutes flight east of Bali or 2.5 hours on a speedboat across the Lombok Strait, is a hidden, unpolished jewel traditionally overshadowed by the fame of its neighboring island. Very few know about its magical serene beaches, long idyllic stretches of white sand; long and slender, wind-bent palm trees with whispering leaves…
We are happy to unveil part of Lombok heritage, not only through the extensive on-site art collection but also through the many unique activities available at Tugu Lombok to bring you into personal contact with local traditions and nature.
Join us on an adventure through nature in search of Lombok’s most beautiful waterfalls. The glorious Tiu Pupus Waterfall tumbles 40 metres down a semi-circular sheer rock face into a deep pool. In the dry season (May-November), the water reduces and the pool comes alive with local kids wallowing and making mud castle. For the more adventurous type, an hour trek from Tiu Pupus will reward you with the Gangga Waterfall, nestled in rice paddies with the mountains in the background. This waterfall consists of three smaller separate falls, one hidden behind a small track through the rocks in a shady cave-like hall.
