Restaurant Description

Set in a beautifully renovated traditional Cambodian home, Cuisine Wat Damnak presents modern Cambodian cuisine with a small touch of French sensitivity. Using unusual, foraged and premium ingredients, the weekly changing degustation menus can be savoured indoors, in the landscaped garden or in a Cambodian wooden room. Signature dishes include noum pao style seafood and sausage pancakes, and sticky black rice porridge with crispy duck.

Open everyday (except Tuesday) for lunch and dinner, Chef Pola prepares Khmer and Western delicacies.

The Chef & His Brigade

“I first came to Cambodia in 2003 to work as a culinary arts teacher for a non-profit organisation. After working as the executive chef for the award-winning Hotel de La Paix, I decided to open up my own restaurant to showcase my passion for Cambodian cuisine and its wide array of unique local products.”

Welcome to Siem Reap

Bursting with life and laden with Khmer, colonial and Chinese architecture, the small provincial capital of Siem Reap serves as the gateway to Angkor Archaeological Park. Stretching over 400 square kilometres and one of the world’s most esteemed treasures, this UNESCO World Heritage site contains dozens of temples and other magnificent Khmer Empire remains from the 9th to the 15th century. In addition to the revered 12th century masterpiece dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu Angkor Wat, other wonders found here include: Angkor Thom’s Bayon Temple, Banteay Srei, Banteay Samre, and the astonishing temple overtaken by vines and roots Ta Prohm.

Besides Angkor, other activities comprise: elephant rides, browsing the wonderful craft shops, visiting a silk farm, taking a boat ride on the serene Tonle Sap Lake to witness the life of the people in the floating villages, and Aspara dance performances. For the more adventurous, a road tour on a quad (ATV) through villages and rice paddies is an exhilarating experience. As night falls, Siem Reap lights up with dozens of restaurants, bars, cafés and other places in which to while away the evening. Enchanting treasures, hospitable people, bustling nightlife—welcome to Siem Reap.
